Awutu Bawjiase community shs was commissioned on November 26th November, 2016. Though the school has a computer laboratory but there were no computers to be used by the students for practicals work. However, I was posted to the school on September 13th, 2018. Though the school was offering information technology as a subject but it was done through, my laptop and a projector which is normally used for projecting slides for notes for students to copy. In view of the challenges above, most of the students lose interest in the subject. In other to make the students love the subject, I thought it is good that to find other alternatives to refurbish the ICT laboratory. In the first place I informed, the headmaster of the school who was pleased the idea. I wrote letters to the various companies within the Bawjiase community which include: ( Peelco Ghana LTD, Fresh and Dry Ghana LTD, Voda fone Ghana, etc. Fortunately, Peelco and Fresh and Dry accepted our letter to refurbish the computer laboratory. Peelco did the trunking, laid all the network cables and also provided one router for internet connectivity. Fresh and Dry on the other hand did the burglar prof for both doors and windows leading to the ICT laboratory for security. Finally we received 41 set of computer and accessories from Gifec Ghana limited. I will say that after the refurbishment of the ICT laboratory, I have also pushed for the addition of Elective ICT as a subject for science and visual Arts students. This has motivated the students in the school to like the subject. I have also established an ICT club for free for students who are willing to learn the subject for thier future carrier.
