IT MUST BE SAID, BUT WHO WILL SAY IT? WHAT WOULD THEY EVEN DO ABOUT IT?
When petty decisions that are taken by a Leadership are underestimated, that leadership won't even notice when destruction is in the next corner. - Anonymous
The last time, I joined a commercial vehicle from Ho to somewhere in nowhere. In the vehicle, I was lucky to be an audience to two teachers - one with two years experience and the other nearing retirement. What were they discussing? "The Jungle Owners have decided to frustrate the education sector to an extent that some of us who could proudly boost and call ourselves politicians can hardly say we're even common party members because we seem to be at sea with all happenings". The argument was a long one, in fact they came to a point and decided that the topic be shifted to Teacher Trainees. The "Senior" teacher said I think this allowance things is "Nonsense". He added that let government pay us(workers) well and we will foot the "Peoples-Spare-Wallet" bills of our Wards ourselves or let us suffer and make it through college then pay us well to stay in the profession. He further lamented bitterly saying " I am a teacher, but I can hardly advise any youth to become one". And this statement was what drew my attention. He was really vomiting something. He added more facts to what he was saying...
He asked that the "Junior" Teacher pick up his phone and join him in some mathematics lectures. He said a teacher receives on average(GHS1000. 0 monthly, dividing by 30days(averagely a month) gave them 33cedis . I was shocked to know a teacher earns less than 35cedis a day and that was no different from all other professionals in the vehicle. So he also said if a student receives an allowance(cash in hand) of GHS200. 00, for a semester is GHS 800.00 for a year, GHS1600 and pays school fees of Approximately the same total, all this in exception of course books to be bought at exorbitant prices. What then does the trainees gain in the allowance initiative? Even painting it as 'free College Initiative would' rather give it a befitting caption.
So some parrots are saying that Parliament Decides on the "bils" of Colleges of Education, and some other big fishes are saying that 'the greedy wolves' do. They have their park meetings, think about how to rob the children, do it, bill the innocent children and share the benefit of their petty thefts with their "Gold Counters" and "Gold Investigators". The Innocent Pure souls which my unborn children call "Student Leaders" hit their heads on stones just to set grown a** "wolves" to do the right thing. There lots more others I heard on my journey to nowhere. I'm happy I purchased that ticket to nowhere. The question is that our journey want to join "the greedy wolves" or take a new path? It's sad to say, but how I wish #Anas' next target would be Colleges of Education.
Everywhere I look, the children are fighting the wolves, the jungle owners are watching but have kept quite because the want to keep the jungle for long. The only shelter for the children, they've not thought of building(Council). So I asked Osagyefo not long ago, a big question but I haven't received an answer yet, may be joining in thinking about the answer would do. The big question is "IS GHANA REALLY FREE FOREVER?".
WATCHOUT FOR THAT QUITE VOICE THAT WILL SPEAK ABOUT THE" UNSAYABLE ".
So one of the giants of African Leadership asked
WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMAN?
My question today is simple, WHO WATCHES THE GREEDY WOLVES?
